I went to KL twice this year. I shall spare you the details… so lets get moving with the pictures!
Everybody is talking about it— the doughnuts worth queuing up for. JCo doughnuts! Suffice to say they were pretty addictive– I went there on both trips to KL!
Don’t believe me when it comes to the queue? Have a look:
See? hehe
Vietnamese food! We had this for bro’s birthday celebration. I must say, I’m beginning to like vietnamese food… particularly their beef noodles. Delicious.
After I came back from China, the siblings and I went to Manhattan Fish Market for dinner. For starters, we had mussels cooked in cream sauce.
For mains, my brother had fish and chips.
Sis and I shared this seafood grill. The melted cheese on top was absolutely heavenly!
Bro and I had shabu shabu (japanese steamboat) for dinner. Here’s the raw ingredients before they were tossed into the pot.
Ooo… delicious. All for an affordable RM18.90. (Japanese Shabu shabu restaurant at Summit USJ)
I have to admit, I was never a big fan of ramen. But this ramen served at Ichiban Ramen, the Curve, Damansara was excellent. We also ordered Japanese Char Siew to go with the ramen (one bowl was enough for the two of us)
This was good!
However, the chawan mushi was a bit of a disappointment. The portion was very tiny and it tasted like it had been re-heated, not steamed from scratch.
This is the pork rib ramen which we had in Ajisen Ramen restaurant, Sunway Pyramid. Its official. I am now hooked on ramen.
We also ordered teriyaki chicken to go with the ramen:
This was scrumptious! The chicken was tender and juicy. The sauce was just nice, not too overpowering. Thumbs up from me~
Of course a trip to KL would not be complete without making a trip to Berkeley, Klang for its famous Fatty Mee Hoon Kuih. The soup was the real deal. No bullshit Knorr ikan bilis cubes, the soup consists of pure ikan billis (anchovies) which gives the soup a hearty flavour.
Curry noodles at SS2. Looks delicious but I was too “engrossed” (i.e. feeling all grossed out) from my bitter gourd beehoon to try it. heheh
My other must dine restaurant is Ikea restaurant. This is their fish and chips.
And… the main (and sometimes, the only) reason I am in Ikea for—>> their to die for Swedish meatballs! I love it!
Dry Bak Kut Teh @ Taman Rasnah, Klang.
And the conventional soup styled bak kut teh. I prefer this better.
We are also big fans of tomatoes and I found these irregularly shaped tomatoes at Jusco Bukit Tinggi. They were very sweet.
While lounging around in Subang Parade, I indulged in a chocolate cheese cake at Secret Recipe.
Well thats all for Part 2! Stay tuned for part 3. Thanks to my dear brother who was kind enough to drive me around.
