This is a belated post.

Two years ago, my brother and I went to the Cooknengr’s den to celebrate his 40th birthday. Two years have passed since then, and this year, I was honoured to be invited to Eddie’s blogger party last week. :D I also had the opportunity to meet Doreen, author of www.blackwidowkickass.blogspot.com, sister of Eddie and we had loads to talk about too! Dr Chen came back from the land of Assam Laksa to join us and so did Wilson. Kris and his wife came with their cute baby girl who is already 2 years old now! How time flies.

Doreen took up the task of redesigning the Wong’s residence and I was very amazed with the work done on the house. The open concept was adopted and one immediately feels at ease upon entering the house. I also said hi to Nikki, the Wong’s golden retriever who performed a remarkable stunt on Ed’s blog (humping a blanket).

Without further adieu, here are pictures from the party. I have somewhat refrained from putting up pictures of myself in recent posts- friends and family can log in to facebook and view my pics from there.

Only Eddie can pull this off. Put another 42 year old in the same gear and same pose and you’d scream murder. Eddie Rules!

This is my favourite part of the house. Here you can see a collection of antiques kept by the late Papa Wong, and also precious pictures from yesteryears. It tells the story of the Wongs, of Papa and Mama Wong, Ed, Grace, D and also N. I was fascinated just looking at the antique radios and camcorder, as well as the camera! I am sure they hold great sentimental value for Eddie and his siblings. Its like living history.

The first camcorder in Sarawak!

Of course, a party at the Cooknengr’s den would not be complete without his dazzling collection of booze.

Guaranteed to knock you out.

This year, Eddie gave us a taste of his legendary culinary skills by serving the following dishes:

texan-chilli.jpg

Texan chilli (with mexican influence)

louisiana-seafood-gumbo.jpg

Louisiana Seafood Gumbo (with French Influence)

northcarolina-bbq.jpg

North Carolina BBQ (Fish fish, looks familiar?)

And this was my favourite drink of the evening:

Eddie I need your help with the name for this drink. I know Kris’ daughter loved it >.<

And D brought these bugs back from Bangkok:

Can I tempt you to have some?

And last but not least, a pic of the coolest siblings in the world:

Thank you Eddie and D for being such lovely hosts. I really enjoyed myself and hope to see you guys in town again soon!
