Jeng jeng jeng!

While the Cooknengr is hanging up flags of rockets and pampering his manichai plants and dicing and slicing and dishing out kuching fare in his one bedroom flat with four BMXes, the miracle in his birthland was also cooking up something authentic..

Behold- the Bungkang Chicken makes its debut in London!

Ok so it wasn’t what you’d expect, with the messy mix as you can see up there. Ran out of garlic rice so Arch decided to make do with some pilau rice. Thought we lacked some veges in the dish and so I quickly stir-fried some brocolli and button mushrooms.

The chicken was delicious though. I’m really beginning to love the slow cooker! :D Like the scene in Ratatouille, when the food critic was transported back to his childhood upon taking a bite of the ratatouille prepared by the little rat chef, I too, felt as if I was back home dining with my parents and getting mosquito bites all over my legs.

Food is a phenomenal thing I tell you.

Oklah, Eddie, how’s this London bungkang for you? heheh

And if anyone happens to drop by Covent garden, this comes highly recommended from me:

Ben’s cookies! Freshly baked everyday! The triple chocolate cookie comes highly recommended as you can literally feel the chocolate melting in your mouth. Its totally amazing.

We also dropped by Paul’s for some afternoon tea:

Apple and almond tart. None of those rubbish “boiled until can’t make out what it is” sugar coated apples, this is the real thing. Every bite of it brings a sense of satisfaction. Real apples and fresh almond slices. It was good!

The rambling continues

The small city miracle has been rambling in London for over a year! After she got hitched in spring 2009, She continues to ramble on matters revolving around her, including music, food and drink, books and of course her ongoing quest to make it big in the land of fish and chips!
