My piano! :)

Ok first things first, my long awaited clavinova arrived last night! The installation guy did a great job- it was like fixing Ikea furniture, except that if it had been Arch and myself fixing the clavi up, we’d have fainted. Word for friends who intend to purchase clavis- do pay the extra charges for installation as you will not regret it.
This is not a sponsored post, but for anyone who is considering purchasing a piano in London, I would not hesistate to recommend Chappell of Bond Street. Both Arch and I were impressed with their professionalism- you could try on each instrument for the whole afternoon until you were really happy with it, before you make your purchase. Understandably so as music instruments are generally very expensive and you want to be sure that you will be happy with it for the next 10 years at least, unless you’re planning to sell it off at a heavily discounted price.
The second reason why I’m recommending Chappell is because they are part of a local government scheme called ” Take it away”, which allows you to spread your payments for the instrument, interest free over a period of nine months. Any instrument that costs £2000 or under would qualify. Why let the bank earn interest on a hefty sum of money if you can stagger payments at a manageable instalment, at no extra cost to you?
I have to say I am very happy with the clavinova. Its a CLP240, and for someone who used to play a grand piano back home, this is the next best thing (given the lack of space in the flat, this was the best alternative). If you’re in London for a considerably long period of time and looking at getting a music instrument to maintain your sanity, do drop by Chappell’s and their friendly staff will be willing to help. And don’t forget, there’s also a huge collection of music scores for all instruments at the basement of the shop. And if you go upstairs, you will be amazed by their collection of classy upright pianos, grand pianos and… the famous red grand piano played by no one other than the great Sir Elton John himself.
Here are some pictures of my current love
