Welcoming the summer, I hope

Hi guys,

I’m doing well here, no pictures at all since all I’ve been doing is pretty much work, eat and sleep. Loving salads and cottage cheese and all those summery food- hope the good weather is here to stay.

Am making more friends and also meeting new people so its all good.

Until my next (mini) update, here’s to wish all of you, a very lovely weekend.

 

Beautiful weather

London has seen some really wonderful weather these days. If  I didn’t rub my eyes constantly to remind me where I was, I would have thought I was in Malaysia. Plenty of sunshine, cooling breeze, girls in spaggetis and minis, topless men by the Thames- I see all this on a daily basis now. Lets see how long the sunny weather lasts.

Attended a wedding last weekend and enjoyed myself. Danced, drank, ate… yeah! Also went for a bbq on Saturday at a friend’s house. All I can say is Portsmouth is one of the best cities to live in London- however I can’t be asked to commute 2 hours to work everyday.

Surreal, so surreal

Sometimes it takes days before reality sinks in. Today as I walked down the familiar path which I would be taking for a considerable period of time, it dawned upon me, that I wasn’t a tourist, or someone who would just pass by this area. Looking at my security pass, the sea of professionals in sharp suits and polished shoes- I realized that I was fast becoming one of them. Blended in the sea of stripes, grey and dark blue suits.

Looking at the building which I work in, and its tower stretched into infinity, I felt small. But hey, no matter how small I am (I am officially the shortest person in the department), I am part of all this now. The clunking Underground, sandwich lunches, running after buses, long hours, working with people from all over the world, in one of the biggest cities in the world, a city that never sleeps.

That feeling is just so surreal, sometimes.

really sorry for the lack of updates. My job requires me to work long hours most of the time and usually by the time I get home I just want to hit the sack and go to lalaland…
