Working in Central London basically means long hours, long weekends and if you rely on public transport, you pretty much stick to a routine. In fact many people are in the same situation here- you wake up at a certain time and you catch a train at a certain time and then you leave at a certain time as well.
It is very important to be careful when you are out and about as some bad guys would be eyeing your every move and jotting down your routine. I noticed that if I take a train at a certain time in the morning, there will be a certain group of people who will always be there no matter what. And if I catch an earlier train, a different group of people will be there as well.
Point is-it is very easy for criminals to prey on people who stick to a rigid routine.
Try to alternate your times when taking public transport and try to come home at different times after work if at all possible.
I am writing this because one of my colleagues almost got molested when she came back from work to her flat one day. The guy was waiting for her in front of her flat as he had already figured out what time she would arrive home.
Living in a city as big as this, it always pays to be more vigilant.
